Back from Nicaragua

Well,  I am back from our trip with Project Hope to Nicaragua.  I enjoyed it very much and wish I was still there!!!  Asking God to provide so I can go back and work with Dr Melba in January.

I was unable to be in weight loss mode while there and have kinda been in and out since the first of November, but have maintained the weight I had lost up to that point.   I have been encouraged that while being in and out of weight loss phase since the first of November I have not gained.  I have learned healthy habits and am able to make better choices now.  Since returning, I have gone back into weight loss phase.  Today is day four!!!  I have lost 7 lbs since returning from Nicaragua which means to me that I had probably lost a few pounds while there but maintained some fluids.  I am feeling great.  I was able to go back to exercise class last night and was able to keep up despite the fact that I have missed nearly the past month due to physical ailments. 

I want to encourage each and every one of you that YOU ARE WORTH THIS JOURNEY!!!  If you “mess-up”  just get back on track the next day.  It is worth it.  People ask me all the time what I did to get the weight off and others ask me how I will be able to maintain this diet forever.  My answer is that I am using a program called Take Shape for Life that offers healthy portion controlled meal replacements as part of a large program teaching me why I eat what I eat and how to shop and cook healthy.  It even teaches me where to go in the grocery store.  My whole family is healthier because I am learning.  THIS IS NOT A DIET!!! It is my life.  I did not like who I had become and I don’t want to go back there.  I will maintain this lifestyle forever.  I am so much happier and healthier.

Making any kind of change can be painful to some extent.  Kinda like growing pains, but it is worth it and you won’t be sorry in the end. 

I have currently released 64lbs and have 16lbs to goal.  I am exercising 3-5 days per week.  I eat within 30 min of getting up in the morning and fuel my body with 100 calorie glycemic index controlled portions every 2-3 hours while awake and eat one lean and green meal a day.  I also am drinking 1 gallon of water nearly every day.   Anyone can do this!!! 

I want to shout it from the rooftops!!!  Please share this with everyone you meet.  There are so many people out there who need to be healthier.
